Anthony Hamilton Interview

Anthony Hamilton, the sports management entrepreneur who guided his son Lewis to Formula One World Champion, has turned his hand to football, and launched a device which allows children and adults of all ages to develop their football skills and control techniques while in the comfort of their own home – great for those dark nights and wet days.

He spoke to Jason McCrossan on 106.9 SFM about his KickTrix™ system – as well as discussing his earlier life and that of Lewis Hamilton.

The first stage of the operation to retake Mosul started. Joint forces will do this from the north, east and south. The west will be left open deliberately, allowing Islamic State fighters a route of escape. It is largely desert in this direction so drones will monitor the terrain and pick off IS fighters as they flee. Mosul is a big city – it is estimated there could be as many as 1.5 million people left inside. Lise Grande is the UN Humanitarian co-ordinator and talks of the issues facing the civilians

Secretary of State David Davis made a statement in the House of Commons on the next steps in leaving the European Union. He used his appearance to tell EU leaders including that any attempt to damage Britain “is not a good strategy to pursue”.

In the final hour Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton debated in a town hall setting during the second presidential debate of the 2016 election. We will hear some of the memorable moments from the debate

We have the World Tonight where we hear stories making the headlines around the world. In NOT in the News: a time wasting woman dialled 999 to request an ambulance to take her home after she’d been shopping and now had SORE FEET.

After 8pm a British man who is undergoing a pioneering treatment for HIV hopes to become the first person in the world to be cured of the virus. After 8pm we’ll talk to Dr Mark Samuels from the National Institute for Health Research.

It’s the Conservative Party conference taking place in Birmingham and we will hear from the chancellor Philip Hammond about his plans for the next year. The chancellor suggested Ed Ball’s performance on Strictly Come Dancing – was better than his economic forecasting. Will Mr Hammond live up to the hype?

It’s party political season at the moment and the Labour party were in Liverpool. We will hear from Labour shadow chancellor John McDonnell who announced he would introduce a “real living wage” of at least £10 an hour in 2020 if elected.

An AA poll shows 8 out of 10 drivers think removal of hard shoulder for Smart Motorway makes motorway more dangerous. Drivers feel that this is not enough to avoid broken down vehicles being forced to stop in live running lanes, with the danger of being hit from behind.

When asked by AA to describe their thoughts on the lay-bys, phrases such as “death zones”, “foolish planners’ promised land” and “desperate unreachable havens” were used. Jason spoke to AA President Edmund King about the findings.

Award winning writer, performer and comedian Rob Auton is currently on tour with The Sleep Show. It follows on from the success of performing to packed audiences at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

He will be performing at the Margate Theatre Royal on 25-Sep and then at Canterbury Marlow on the 13 April 2017.

English Heritage is marking the 950th anniversary of the Battle of Hastings by unveiling a sequel to the Bayeux Tapestry – we’ll hear from children’s illustrator Liz Pichon who designed the new Tapestry.

It’s claimed poverty is costing UK taxpayers 78 billion pounds per year. Researchers looked at how much money is spent relieving deprivation and preventative measures – Jason talks to Katie Schmuecker after 8pm.
